Ali | Deja Vu

"You’re like a drug and I can’t relax, I need more, more, more."

For this post, I decided to use the song Deja Vu by Sleeping With Sirens. This song is off the new album Feel. Go check out this Michigan based band here and of course make sure to listen to the song below…duh!

The school girl look is definitely in right now. I paired this Brandy Melville plaid dress, with a cropped Forever 21 sweater, thigh highs and my favorite Jeffrey Campbell booties.

Ali | '64 Dodge

"This ain't no drive-by love, don't want no hit and run"

I chose a Breathe Carolina song to go with this post. Not only am I obsessed with their music but if you ever need something to get you pumped up, their music is the way to go. Check them out!

In this look, I wanted to try for an edgier elegant look. I paired a striped crop top from Forever21, with distressed vintage Levi's, some classic pumps and an elegant gold statement necklace.

Get the look:
  • Kate shoes from ShoeMint here
  • The shorts are distressed denim Levi's but you can get a similar pair here on Urban Outfitters

Ali | Free People Wannabe

Song for this post:

You can't tell me you have never looked at a Free People ad and dreamt of looking the exact same way as the models on their site. I tried to put together my own little Free People outfit here using a variety of store's items. As you can tell, my style is all over the place. One day I try to go for the goth look and the next day I can be as girly as they get (besides the tattoos :)).

Get the look:
  • Dress sold here on Forever21
  • Sweater by Brandy Melville here
  • Similar lace up boots sold here on Aldo
  • Thigh highs sold here on Urban Outfitters
  • Sunnies sold on Vintage Sunnys

Hillary | Comfy Chic

I love when I can look effortlessly chic, and still be super comfortable. Which is usually the case when I wear my favorite DIY Levi boyfriend jeans. Throw on your favorite heels and trusted leather jacket, and you are good to go.

You can create your own favorite boyfriend jeans, in your favorite wash, fit, etc. by visiting your local thrift store and picking up a pair of used denim. If you want to distress them like I did, all you need is a razor blade and patience (it's a monotonous process, but so worth it.)

My shoes are from ShoeMint - and are probably my favorite lace up heels, ever! They are sold out now, but you can grab a similar pair here!

Ali | Jeepers Creepers

While embarrassing to admit, yes I do love the movie Jeepers Creepers...shhh. I thought this name was appropriate in going with the theme of the shoes that I based this shoot around, creepers. I absolutely love the new fad of these shoes and the different ways to wear them. I chose to pair them with my super super skinny black high waisted pants, a vintage T, a distressed denim jacket and a studded two finger ring. Also while at the Melrose Trading Post in LA this past weekend, I found the most amazing sunglasses vendor and picked up the sunnies you see here for super cheap.

A little Miley cover of Lana Del Rey to go with the look.

Get the look:
  • Shoes found here
  • Black high waisted pants found here
  • Similar distressed denim jacket found here
  • Similar studded two finger ring found here
  • For sunglasses go check out Vintage Sunnys here!

Beauty and The Goth

Typically, we shoot for the blog separately. Sure, we work together, and spend most of our weekends together - but, when shooting for the blog our schedules never click, and we're left posing solo.

So, today when we had the opportunity to shoot together, it was more than fun! I (Hillary) don't normally wear dresses (even in the summer.) But, when I received these ShoeMint booties, I knew that they needed to be paired with a flirty dress. And with the New Year New You mentality, it  motivated me to do a cleaning haul on my closet, this resulting in me finding this hidden gem that I hadn't worn in forever!

Ali and I's style(s) are completely different, but that doesn't mean I don't sit at my desk all day at work and covet her latest wardrobe additions. Not only do I have closet-envy, but I have complexion-envy as well. I would die to be able to pull off a deep purple/red lip like she does! Ali killed it in her boho-goth-esque number today! Her maxi being from IntiMint.com and her dope kimono being vintage (die!)

If you'd like to look effortlessly chic, you can grab similar styles here:

Hillary:

Dress: My dress is from Free People circa 2010, but you can grab a similar version here! (also on SALE!)

Ali's outfit deets:

Maxi Dress
Sunnies
Suede Mini-Backpack
